Compare bids on what they include, not only the number

The cheapest incomplete bid is usually the expensive one. Four yes/no checks — a load calculation, model numbers, the duct line stated separately, commissioning in writing — and the price sitting next to them, not above them.

Score each bid 0–4. The tool names the most complete on paper. It does not pick a contractor and it does not rank on price. A $1,200 gap on two complete bids is a conversation. A $1,200 gap on a bid that skipped the load calculation is a different conversation.
