HyreHVAC

How it works

How HyreHVAC works

HyreHVAC is free. You read the guides and use the calculators. When you want help, you describe your heating or cooling project in a short form. A person reads it and replies. Contractor matching is still being built, and no company gets your details until you agree.

Where does matching stand today?

Stated before the process rather than after it: our contractor matching is still being built. This is not an instant quote form, and nothing on this site will tell you it is.

What happens today is that a person reads your inquiry, answers your question, and tells you when we can introduce local HVAC companies in your area. Nothing is passed to a contractor unless you agree to it.

Everything else on this site works now and is free to use whether or not you ever submit anything: the research, the calculators and the incentive guides.

What are the five steps?

Five steps. Nothing here is automated in a way we have not described.

  1. You work out what you are actually dealing with. Most people arrive with a symptom, not a diagnosis. The guides and calculators turn "it is not cooling" into a specific question: a leak, a sizing problem, an old system or a fault that needs measuring before anyone can price it.
  2. You tell us what you need. Zip code, the equipment, the problem and your timeline. We ask for what is needed to route the inquiry sensibly and to let a company arrive informed, and we do not ask for things we have no use for.
  3. A person reads it. An inquiry goes to a real inbox and a person reads it. There is no instant automated match, and describing one would be untrue.
  4. We answer you, and tell you where the introductions stand. Contractor matching is still being built, so this is not an instant quote form. We answer your question and tell you when we can introduce HVAC companies in your area. Nothing goes to a contractor unless you agree.
  5. You deal with the company directly. Quoting, diagnosis, scheduling and the contract are between you and the company. We are not a party to it. What we can do is tell you what a good quote contains before you read one.

What happens to my information?

Your inquiry is used to understand your project and to connect you with HVAC companies that can help with it. That is its purpose and that is its limit.

We do not sell your details as a marketing list, and we do not publish them. The privacy policy is the controlling document.

If you want your inquiry deleted, ask. It will be.

What does HyreHVAC not promise?

  • Not a dispatch service. Submitting the form does not send anybody to your house. If you smell gas or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, leave and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. For a failed system, call a local company, or (866) 582-8523 to talk to us.
  • Not a guaranteed response time. We would rather publish none than publish one we cannot meet in a heat wave.
  • Not an endorsement. Connecting you with a company is not a recommendation of it. See how we vet.
  • Not a price. Any figure that matters comes from a company that has looked at your equipment. What we can do is help you judge the figure when it arrives.

What should I do before I submit anything?

An inquiry is more useful to you when you already know roughly what you are asking for, and these take a few minutes each.

I run an HVAC company. How does this work for me?

The supply side of this works differently and is described separately. See working with HyreHVAC, which sets out which commercial terms are settled and which are not, or go straight to the company application.

Questions people ask

What happens after I submit an inquiry?
A person at HyreHVAC reads it and answers you. Contractor matching is still being built, so this is not an instant quote form. We tell you when we can introduce HVAC companies in your area, and nothing goes to a contractor unless you agree. It does not dispatch anybody, so if it is urgent, call a local company.
How much does it cost me?
Nothing. Homeowners are never charged. The intended commercial model is that HVAC companies pay to receive inquiries.
Am I obliged to hire anyone?
No. There is no obligation at any point. You can take the information and do nothing with it, and plenty of people should. Several of our own guides conclude that the right answer is to repair what you have, or to wait.
Will I be contacted repeatedly?
Our purpose is to connect you with professionals who can help, not to generate call volume. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we will. Once you are in touch with an HVAC company directly, how that company communicates is between you and them.
Do you guarantee a response time?
No, and we will not publish one we cannot consistently meet. If your heating or cooling has failed in dangerous weather, do not wait on us. Call a local emergency HVAC service.
