Questions this calculator answers
- How often should I change my HVAC filter?
- Every one to three months during the season you run the system, faster with pets or a high-MERV filter. Read the slot, not the box claim.
- What is a tune-up?
- Coils, refrigerant charge, airflow or static pressure, and safety controls. A filter change billed as a tune-up is a filter change.
- Do I need a monthly service plan?
- Not on the strength of a filter. Run the recurring-cost arithmetic against what the plan actually includes (parts? after-hours? coil clean?) before you sign one.
